1.What strengths did you bring to your internship?
I helped the YMCA youth sports department by being able to set up the fields and give out hand-outs to coaches or participants. I also helped organize most of the paper work that goes into keeping the department organized like t-shirt orders, team practice and game schedules, and coach’s folders.
2.What were your major weaknesses? What personal qualities could you have improved during your experience?
My major weakness was once school started I couldn't always be there. I wasn't as flexible as I was during the summer. A quality I could have improved would have been to be more involved in the children’s games or practices and make sure they knew who I was.
3.Do you feel you adequately satisfied the duties expected of you by the sponsoring organization? Why or why not?
I feel I satisfied the duties expected. I believe that I got all of the work that was asked of me to do on time or sooner. I think I was a big help with the youth sports department because they have never had an intern in that department before. Becky showed that she was very appreciative of my help that I did and also offered me a job after my internship was completed.
4.Do you feel you adequately satisfied the time requirements (150 clock hours) of the internship?
I feel satisfied the time requirements of the internship. I spent a lot of hours at the fields to set up or clean-up for games and I also spent a lot of time outside of the work areas at home to complete paper work.
5.What helpful suggestions would you make to future interns in your position?
I would suggest for future interns to get to know the people around the YMCA and also get to know the parents and kids that you work with because it will help the work become more fun than taking it as a job.
6.What did you gain from your experience? How will this experience help you when you leave Tiffin University?
I gained a lot of resources and experience from this internship. I learned a lot about how to set up files to help organize and create events. This experience will help me be one of the more organized employees in the future.
7. What overall grade do you feel you earned through your internship experience? A- Justify your response.
I deserve an A because I put a lot of my own time into this internship. I think that I was very helpful to the programs and made games and practices easier for the players and coaches. I think having to be flexible and able being able to help out with anything Becky asked me to was a main reason I deserve an A with this internship. I wasn't afraid to give my own ideas and most of the time the ideas were taken into consideration and sometime used.
